TRP's CD

Evening in Vermont (Rhombus)  2011

"TRP is a special group, offering well-played, joyous jazz that refreshingly and intelligently taps into several other musical genres. Three hearty cheers for their 'Evening in Vermont' album."  Frank-John Hadley, longtime Downbeat critic  2-25-12

You can order physical copies or downloads from Rhombus or Amazon, or come to a show and get it personalized!

"Miles Davis and Danny Elfman? The Beatles and Stephen Foster? The connection is The Reese Project ... a mash-up of Stephen Foster and television cartoon dad Homer Simpson; a genre splicing of The Beatles with Miles Davis; and use an exotic electric cello as a string instrument and in place of a bass, not a typical configuration in any idiom." Audiophile Audition, Doug Simpson, 10/17/11

"A refreshingly different form of jazz/folksong/ blues/and even classical music. Whatever they choose to play the sound is full of dash, class, style, and a sense of having a very good time. Every song takes on an original flavor and while most of the tunes are upbeat, there is enough variation to satisfy the most finicky musical taste. The feeling is that this TRP jams well and that while most of the tunes seem to have the arrangements by Tom and LH Reese, this sampler is a group effort - full of energy and enthusiasm and tasty playing." Grady Harp (Los Angeles, CA), Hall of Fame Reviewer, Amazon.com, 9/11/11

"...great jazz players... Tom Reese's flute on this one is among the best I've heard ... The lively "Kitchen Girl" demonstrates a diversity not often found in today's jazz world... superb energy, & pianist Kirk Reese just KICKS on this one! I give TRP my MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an "EQ" (energy quotient) rating of 4.98." Rotcod Zzaj (Tongduchon, Korea), 11/2/11

Rhombus has also released Tom & Kirk's Duo CD: Connected as well as re-releasing Blue Etude (the original version).

TRP's 8th release, produced by Grammy award winner Jack Kreisberg, includes 12 originals & standards featuring the unique sound of flute, cello, electric guitar, percussion & drums.

"The Reese Project is a one-of-a kind jazz group; Tom Reese ... plays a mean flute and, on occasion, pennywhistle. His wife, Laurie Haines Reese is a remarkable acoustic and electric cello player. She can slap it like a bass or use a bow and play it like a fiddle, though with a bluesy feel."  Barry Bassis, Town & Village, Arts Beat, NYC, 9/22/11
